C. V. Starr is led by Chairman and CEO Maurice R. Greenberg. Mr. Greenberg
recently retired as Chairman and CEO of AIG after over 40 years of leadership
that created the largest insurance company in history, and generated
unprecedented value for shareholders. During Mr. Greenberg's tenure, AIG rose
from $300 million in market value to approximately $180 billion of market
value. At AIG, Mr. Greenberg pioneered the global trade in services that opened
markets for the insurance industry around the world. In addition, Mr. Greenberg
broadened AIG's business model by developing the largest commercial
underwriting unit in the United States, building the number one life insurer in
the world (when combining U.S. and foreign life operations) and creating a
financial services division and asset management business that has decreased
AIG's vulnerability to traditional insurance cycles.
Edward E. Matthews serves as President of C. V. Starr, bringing years of
leadership and financial experience gained in senior executive roles with AIG
and as a partner in the investment banking firm of Morgan Stanley & Co.
